You may have heard rumors of something called Wine Riot hitting our fair shores. THOSE RUMORS WERE CORRECT. And it sounds awesome.

The folks behind Wine Riot & the Second Glass, Morgan First and Tyler Balliet, are friends of WTFLA creator Leah Hennessy. While judging a wine competition last year, they all decided that they would team up and unite magical wine powers for good in Los Angeles and support each other’s wine awesomeness. If you’re looking for more bullshit-free wine-stuff to do here in LA, be sure to check these guys out.

A note to WTFLA from Morgan & Tyler:

All we want is for everyone to drink more wine! Two years ago we started throwing small but really fun wine events in Boston. It quickly led to the creation of Wine Riot, an educational wine event where you can ask questions, take a 20-minute Crash Course and try unique wines from all over the world all while rocking out with 3,000 of your closest friends. Wine Riot LA is March 25-26 in a brand new space in Santa Monica. Tickets are only $50/ $60 and let you try any of the 250 wines from all over the world. We even built our own killer Mobile App so you can remember every wine you try.

Starting on June 5th, WTFLA will have a monthly happy hour at City Sip in Echo Park!

On the first Saturday of every month, we’ll be taking over the bar AND the music while the ever-awesome City Sip brings the 1/2 price wine specials at the bar from 5-7pm. We will be reaping the monthly benefits as City Sip shows off some of their most exciting, independent, quirky, rare, and just plain weird wine offerings (Bull’s Blood, anyone?) that they’ll be hand-picking just for WTFLA folks.
